Internships at iSimcha Health

Working as a member of iSimcha, students gain experience with a startup health technology business that can be transferred to their individual career paths. There are opportunities for advancement and leadership growth.

Opportunity for long term employment for citizen or permanent resident candidates interested in the NIH National Minority Health Fellowship program.

All intern positions have a flexible schedule of 12 – 20 hours a week (Will work with class schedules), Monday – Friday.

Computer Science Internship

Salary: Starting at $15/hr

Job Summary: The Computer Science Intern will learn from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Design wireframes showcasing application look and feel.
  • Create data flow charts. Write user stories and user flow diagrams.
  • Participate in design thinking and user testing sessions.
  • Participate in meetings with development teams and business partners.
  • Write unit tests for the backend and frontend applications.
  • Work with GitHub Actions/Docker to automate tasks.
  • Help with project management of various projects.
  • Write documentation for the applications.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science.
  • Students enrolled in Graduate school (MS, PHD and postdocs) are also eligible.
  • Passion for learning, solving problems, and thinking outside the box.
  • Good organization and planning skills, Effective communication.

Media Production Internship

Salary: Starting at $15/hr

Job Summary: The primary purpose of the position is to create engaging media to engage patients with health education.

Responsibilities

  • Design Canva and media projects for the company.
  • Typeset and layout of projects.
  • Work with supervisors to ensure design elements are met.
  • Working knowledge or ability to quickly learn Canva, YouTube channels, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
  • Export production according to specifications, upload to media channels.
  • Work with student clients to ensure projects are completed to spec.

Qualifications

  • Students pursuing a BS in Media Production is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Students enrolled in Graduate school (MS, PHD and postdocs) are also eligible.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ability to take initiative, work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform well in a fast paced environment.

Business Development and Marketing Internship

Salary: Starting at $15/hr

Job Summary: The Business development and marketing Intern will learn from experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in meetings with development teams and business partners.
  • Perform market analysis research.
  • Assist in business planning and model development.
  • Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Business related majors (doctoral level also eligible).
  • Passion for learning, solving problems, and thinking outside the box.
  • Good organization and planning skills , Effective communication.
